Lemon and lime slices do not float in water because they are denser than water. The density of the fruit slices is higher than that of water, causing them to sink rather than float. Additionally, the air pockets within the fruit slices may not be large enough to provide enough buoyancy to keep them afloat. **

Slices of sausage are typically round because they are formed by being extruded through a casing, which results in a cylindrical shape that is then sliced.
